Sheri Oberholtzer
Sheri Oberholtzer was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta which is where she trained in many facets of dance including tap, jazz, ballet and lyrical. Sheri’s dance training resulted in completing the Royal Academy of Dance Graded and Vocational exams including Advance 2. She is a Certified Registered Teacher of the RAD and has been a member for over 35 years. She also danced, under scholarship, at ther Banff Center of Fine Arts. Sheri owned and operated Image Dance Studios in Calgary for fifteen years from 1979 – 1994.
Sheri is a former Young Canadian and started her career with the group in 1969, the second year after the group’s inception. During her 9 year tenure with TYC she performed for the Queen of England, the Grey Cup, the PNE in Vancouver and appeared in several television specials. Sheri has successfully prepared numerous students for their RAD exams and in recent years has specialized in supplementary coaching for exam preparation.
Many of Sheri’s students have gone onto professional careers in dance such as teachers, studio owners and dancers on cruise ships. Sheri’s extensive and diverse experience in the dance industry has enabled her to develop a broad and discerning view of all of the disciplines of dance.
Sheri’s desires to see the success of each student be measured not only by the performance itself but also by the individual personal accomplishment.
