Now Is The Time For Technique!

With the dance season off to a fresh start, teachers must ensure that weekly class plans include quality technique and skills development opportunities for all dancers.

Now that all studios and ADAPT teachers are well into the new dance season and fall classes, it is important that your weekly class plans include quality technique and skill development opportunities. Very often do we fall into the habit of teaching choreography too early in the season to our students, without giving them the technical tools to dance the choreography to their potential. The months of September to January are the ideal “training” months in most high standard studios. Classes should be technically driven and include short training combinations to enhance the technique and steps being taught. Choreography for your students is the reward for hard work. Not a requirement for no work.
